-2015-2016 Wolfpack JV girls finish season undefeated 20-0!
For the first time in program history, a Wolfpack girls basketball team has gone undefeated as the JV girls ran through their 2015-16 schedule without a loss to finish 20-0. It was an incredible effort defined by so many different players stepping up in crunch time to help deliver wins and almost every game it was someone else who came up big when it mattered most. The team took on the theme of "whatever it takes" and did just that night after night to secure victory after victory. The girls won 3 OT games and in those games, were down by as many as 17 points but again, did what it took to come back and force OT to get the win.
The JV squad was led by juniors Brynn McChesney (78 pts 4.1 ppg, 70 asts 3.7 apg, 49 stls 2.6 spg), Madison Rauthe (125 pts 6.3 ppg, 82 rebs 4.1 rpg, 36 stls 1.8 spg), and Emma Shew (59 pts 3 ppg, 54 rebs 2.7 rpg) who started every game all season long and provided the leadership, toughness and heart each contest to set the standard and lead the way. Sophomores Cadie Williams (107 pts 5.4 ppg, 74 asts 3.7 apg, 82 rebs 4.1 rpg, 52 stls 2.6 spg), Ellie Stevens (94 pts 4.7 ppg, 41 stls 2.1 spg, 33 asts 1.7 apg), McKenna Johnson (94 pts 4.7 ppg, 39 stls 2 spg), Ashley Montini (42 pts 2.2 ppg, 77 rebs 4 rpg) and Alivia Atlee (78 pts 3.9 ppg, 95 rebs 4.8 rpg) made so many big plays and had so many important contributions in such key moments as the season progressed to allow the winning streak to continue. Freshmen Kali Gulick (196 pts 9.8 ppg, 105 rebs 5.3 rpg), and Bria Anderson (52 pts 2.6 ppg) added athleticism and were important scoring options for the Pack JV. As a team, they averaged 46.7 points per game but were absolutely stifling on the defensive end of the floor only allowing an incredible 29.6 points per game and limiting their opponents to only 26% shooting for the season. They out rebounded their opponents by 8 rebounds per game and while they didn't shoot the ball all that well themselves, they were so good on defense, forcing 514 turnovers on the season (26.7 per game) and snaring 310 steals (15.5 per game), that it more than made up the difference for the off shooting nights..
Thanks to all the girls for a tremendous season and a great effort night after night. You were so much fun to coach and so much fun to watch and made us all very proud. You took advantage of every opportunity, you played selflessly, together as a team, and you competed so hard every second of every game. You will go down in history and what you've accomplished will never be forgotten!
